Barnyard Party Pals is looking for suppliers for its first back to school party.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on August 21 at the Shelby County Fairgrounds.
Renting a space will cost $ 50. Barnyard Party Pals will then use this money to purchase additional school supplies that will be donated to schools in Shelby County. Owner Luke Schonfeld will also accept donations of school supplies on this day.
“Before I did children’s zoos – well, I always did children’s zoos – a few years ago I was working as a teacher’s assistant so I could see how many children were coming to school. without school supplies, ”Schonfeld said. “I wanted to coordinate an event where we could donate school supplies to the kids who came without.”
Schonfeld said the event is in coordination with Shelby County’s bicentennial celebration, but he hopes to make it an annual thing.
“The Fair Board was delighted to be able to host him, to be able to help celebrate the bicentennial and to bring together a handful of vendors,” he said. “It’s gonna be a hell of a first event.”
Local vendors already in attendance include Barnyard Party Pals petting zoo and pony rides, Snowie of Indy (snow cones) and The Bird House and More, which is planning a bird show, Schonfeld said. LeJuice Creations will also offer you its best homemade juices.
The Back to School Bash will be one of the many events Barnyard Party Pals has scheduled to help give back to the community.
“We are planning an animal shelter supply campaign on September 18,” said Schonfeld. “Oct. 23 were planning to do one for the Shelby County Pantry Pals – a canned food drive. Then we’re planning the first of our toy drives on November 27, and on December 19 we’re planning the other toy drive. .
More information will be available on the Barnyard Party Pals Facebook page.
“It’s all to benefit the community and give back,” he added. “I hope everyone comes out.”
